As long as you meet the eligibility criteria for the IRS Free File provider’s offer you selected, you must not be charged for the
electronic preparation and filing of a federal tax return. Some IRS Free File providers do charge a fee for state tax
preparation. Any state tax preparation or non-qualifying fees must be disclosed on the provider’s IRS Free File landing page.
A secure, state-only electronic filing system – offered exclusively through the Department of Revenue – which
allows most taxpayers to prepare and submit their Pennsylvania personal income tax return for free.

West Virginia Free File
Ohio I-File
Allows certain individuals to electronically file their original Ohio IT 1040, SD 100 and/or IT 10.

The West Virginia State Tax Department has continued its agreement with Free File Alliance member companies that offer
free Online filing services to qualified West Virginia taxpayers. Each Free File Alliance member sets taxpayer eligibility
requirements for its program. Please note that online filing providers may charge a fee for their service if you don’t meet
their eligibility requirements..
